We had Thanksgiving at our house this year. Dad & Faye came in from Texarkana & David invited Tracy & Chad to join us. Of course, Grandma & Grandpa were there also. Despite a little stress, we pulled it off & everyone enjoyed some yummy food & good company. We are so thankful we could provide a nice meal for our family & friends.

Holiday Magic 2011

We have a lot of catching up to do.....and what better way to begin with a little Holiday Magic. Gavin & I got tickets to the Arlington Junior League "Holiday Magic" where he saw Santa, met the Build a Bear, enjoyed some crepes & cocoa, & saw some fun Christmas dancing by a local dance company. Gavin's friend, Claire, & her Mommy, Lori were there with us.

Halloween night, we actually put Gianna in her angel costume for a few minutes to take pictures.

Gavin's favorite part was watching for kids to come up so he could give them candy.

The second pumpkin we carved on Halloween night.

We carved pumpkins a little too early this year, but they were cute while they lasted. We did a Texas Ranger theme. Daddy did the flag, Mommy did the "T" & well, Gavin did lots of different shapes & ended up with a classic jack-o-lantern face.

Gavin's 3rd Birthday- Train Party

Gavin's Train Party was a huge success thanks to JuJu & Mommy! As usual, we were creating banners, decorating the cake & making the goodie bags up until the last minute.

No one noticed that we forgot the balloons in David's Jeep until the party was over & Mom & I forgot to put the wheels on the train banner. Oh well!!

The train cake was easier than I thought to make. It was made with a cake mold that I ordered from trainparty.com, cookies, & creativity from JuJu & Mommy with the icing.

The goodie bags had train tickets, bandanas (red for boys, pink for girls), & a train whistle.

Gianna looks so adorable in her overalls. They were once Gavin's. I had every intention of getting Gavin some for the party, but got too busy & forgot. Again, oh well.

Only a week into the new house, JuJu & Mommy pulled it off & made it fabulous!

We went to Texarkana for a short visit & Monica gave Gavin a small family birthday party. This was the first time we have ever had a birthday party in Texarkana for Gavin. He loved it so much that we decided it is a must every year!!

We were ultra prepared for the fireworks with these awesome headphones that block sound. The funny thing is that the label reads for sports events, movies, fireworks, & loud church services!!

Monica & Joe brought the kids to Grapevine to go to the new Sea Life Aquarium. They invited us to join them. It was fun, but so crowded. We thought the week before school started would mean less crowds. Wrong!!!!

I can't believe Gianna is 12 weeks/3 months old. Time has gone by so fast.

Gianna looks beautiful in these colors. Her eyes are such a mystery right now. When she wears blue, they tend to look bluish grey, but when she wears green they look hazel with a hint of green.

At Gianna's second doctor's visit, she weighed 8 lbs 10 oz. The doctor said "wow!!" I guess that was a lot of gain for her. She was 90% in height (just like Gavin), 50% in weight, & 25% in head. Monica & Joe came to visit us on their way back from vacation & brought her this adorable outfit she is wearing.

JuJu got to come & visit for another week. She & Gianna got to spend some good snuggle time together. Mommy got these cute baby legs for Gianna to wear. Daddy called her a clown. Silly Daddy doesn't know anything about fashion.

Saturday, we went to visit the pediatrician to see if Gianna had gained any weight since we left the hospital.

She had!!

7.30 lbs, which is a pound more than she weighed when we left the hospital after losing a little weight the first few days of life.

After 3 days in the hospital, we went home on Friday. Mommy recovered so much faster this time around. Gianna & Mommy were ready to be home, but I think Daddy & Gavin were especially happy to have them home.

Night Before the Big Day!

Mom & I look pretty rough because we had such a busy day. Trying to get Gavin's hair cut, go to my pre-op (where they ended up hooking me up to the fetal monitor because I hadn't felt the baby move all morning), lunch, hurrying back home to meet my Dad & Faye, working on the baby bedding, going to grocery store, cooking dinner (because I didn't want a restaurant meal b/c I will have a lot of those in the coming weeks), & getting Gavin to bed. Man, that is a lot!! Now, I just need to get myself to bed. Have to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m.!!! Cut time is 7:30 a.m. & then we will meet this little one! :)

38 Weeks

This is Friday night, May 27th. I started contracting 10 minutes apart around 6:00 p.m. Once they got to 5 minutes apart, we decided to head to the hospital. Of course, I had to get one last picture of Gavin & I together. After giving me Breathren in the hospital, they were able to stop my contractions & we went home. Good thing, because my doctor was out of town until Monday. I felt like Kathryn Heigl in knocked up. It wasn't my plan!!

Helicopter Ride

Last Saturday, David got to ride in a helicopter that one of his patients flies. The guy had been offering for a while, & finally, an opportunity arrived. They took off from Grand Prairie Airport & landed at Grapevine High school. They picked up some guys that were to parachute out over the high school. Gavin wasn't too sure of the huge helicopter at first, but we finally got him in to take some pictures.

Train Ride

Last Friday, Mommy took Gavin for a train ride on the Forest Park Train in Fort Worth. Gavin loved it & I thought it was completely unsafe!! The cars were completely open & we went over extremely high bridges with nothing protecting us from falling out. I think the tracks were older than our Grandparents! I know Gavin thought it was awesome, but I don't know if we will go back.

Lunch with Syrup

I fixed Gavin grilled turkey & cheese for lunch & cut it like I normally cut his french toast. He immediately asked for syrup. I tried to talk him out of it, but finally gave in thinking he wouldn't like the combination. Well, I was very wrong. He loved it!! He was licking the syrup off the sandwich! I couldn't help but laugh, but he also ate the whole sandwich!! That is a first when it comes to sandwiches.

We had a wonderful Easter this year & hope that all of our friends & family did also.

33 Weeks

Last night we put together the baby's crib. Gavin was a big help. LOL. I am 33 weeks now, with 6 to go!! The baby's room is now painted, we have a beautiful glider that Grandma & Grandpa gave us, & now the crib is up. I have also bought a few accessories at a local antique shop. The room is a mess though. David got all of Gavin's clothes bins out of the attic for me to go through. So, they are all stacked up in the baby's room. It is very hard to get organized, when we don't know what this little one is going to be...boy or girl. :)

Weekend before last we spent the day out with Thomas the Train in Grapevine. Gavin was so excited. We pumped him up about it before we went & he is still telling random strangers that "I ride Thomas!"

At 29 weeks, my belly & baby are totally getting notice. Corri with Corr Images in Mansfield took our first session of maternity pictures in an urban area of Fort Worth. Of course, she did an amazing job! I can't wait to share the rest of them with all of you.

Here are some updated pictures of our little one to come. Nothing much has changed with the position....still has it's little knees up near it's tiny face. The baby is now weighing at a whopping 2 lbs 13 oz. My doctor said we are growing a big one this time. I have gained 12 lbs so far & everything looks good. The only concern right now is that I am a little anemic. I have to go back to get another test in 3 weeks to check if has gotten any worse. The most that will happen is that I will have to get on iron pills. For now, I am trying to eat iron rich foods & stay away from anything that may block my body from absorbing iron.

Fort Worth Zoo Trip

JuJu & Peyton came to visit me this past weekend. We went to the Fort Worth Zoo!! I had so much fun playing with my cousin, Peyton & getting to see my JuJu. It was been way too long between visits!

My First X-RAY

While wrestling in the floor last Friday, my Daddy & I had a little mishap. I was climbing on Daddy's back & putting my arms around his neck. When I started to fall, Daddy grabbed my forearms. I immediately said, "Ow" & grabbed my right forearm. Daddy thought he just rubbed my arm too hard & he & Mommy tried to soothe me. I began to cry hard. They knew something was wrong. I wasn't using my arm & screamed anytime someone tried to touch it. After 30 minutes of trying to examine my arm, Daddy finally felt something wrong in my elbow. With a little pressure & the right turn, he put my elbow joint back into place. Yes, I had nurse maid's elbow (my elbow was out pulled out of socket). Immediately, I was playing & laughing & moving my arm all around. The next day I went to Daddy's office & had my very first X-Ray. Mommy couldn't go in with me & Daddy was working, so Mrs. Catherine took me in & Mrs. Cathy took my X-Ray. Daddy wanted to see if any bone fragments were loose. After looking at the X-Ray, Daddy said I was just fine. We just have to be careful for the next 3 weeks so my elbow stays in place!!

I am now 25 weeks pregnant & showing every bit of it. Gavin is actually noticing the bump. He says "gentle baby" & rubs my tummy. So cute! I don't think he actually knows what is coming, but he did tell the baby to "come out" the other day. :)

Baby Escajeda #2 is growing big! Here is a great shot of the little one in a Pike position. You can see the knees up by his/her nose. :) Yes, this one is frank breach also & will come out with it's legs up by it's face. It's funny to see because they tend to stay that way for a little while until their muscles relax. So, as many times as you want to "unfold" them, their legs will spring back up!!

Gavin "putting his guns in his belt". For those of you that are not Packers fans, this refers to when Aaron Rodgers (quarterback-Greenbay) does something good. He always puts away his guns in his imaginary belt. Well, now he doesn't have to imagine anymore. He has his Superbowl belt to put his "guns" in.

Although we didn't get to go into the stadium, we still had a good time walking around the crowd & supporting our Packers.

We spent some time with Corri at Corr Images getting some really cute shots of Gavin for the Lady Bugs Boutique Cute Kid Calendar Contest. These are just a few of Corri's favorites that she sent us. There are so many cute ones, I had a hard time deciding what to order. Gavin is so grown up in these pictures. David said that Ralph Lauren should send us a check to use these in their next ad. :)

22 Weeks

I am now 22 weeks & showing more & more. My thought was to have my maternity pictures made in the snow this time, so we took advantage of our rare snow in Texas.

High Five! Gavin said, "Again!" as soon as they were down the hill.

When David got home, we decided to take Gavin sledding at River Legacy Park. I went to get a snow suit for him, so he was all set. After some attempts on the lids of our trashcans, & an unfortunate incident with a swimming ring (David popped this poor girl's "tube" before she could even use it, but in David's defense he did say he was too big for it), David found a piece of plastic siding to go down the hill on. He & Gavin had fun while prego Mommy took pictures on the sideline. It looked a little too unpredictable to me.

Mommy found Gavin's sunglasses in his backpack, so we had to wear them to look at the snow. He said that it was bright & hurt his eyes. :)

Of course, the best thing about making cookies with Mommy is that you get to eat them!!! Yummy chocolate chip cookies with M&M's. Gavin loves to "mix it"!!

Helping Mommy in the Kitchen

We are on day 3 of being stuck in the house from all the ice on the roads. David has been really sweet to take us to the grocery store when he gets home from work, but the days inside are starting to get to us. So, today we decided to do some baking. In the middle of making cookies, Gavin decided to help Mommy "wash" them. Well, he asked to "play bubbles". Does that count???

After a long day in the house, we finally got out to go to the store & let Gavin see all the ice. David drove us in the Jeep & we had Gavin all bundled up.

Toy Box Troubles

Gavin's toy box that Pop made him has been in our room since we got it. Two weeks ago, I decided it needed to be moved after finding Gavin climbing on it to get to the alarm remote. So, we moved it into his room. The very next night, Gavin was dancing around in his footed pajamas right before bed & tripped on his alligator. He went face forward into the edge of the wooded box!! After a quick exam & lots of screaming & crying, David put a steri-strip on Gavin's nose & warned me he may wake up with two black eyes that were swollen shut. Thank goodness we didn't have the swollen shut part, but the black eye came soon enough. We are just thankful it wasn't the corner of the toy box.

Funny Stories

After asking where his computer was, I told Gavin it was up in his room. He wanted me to come with him to look for it, but I wanted to see if he could do it on his own. After a few minutes upstairs, he came to the top of the staircase to yell down at me..."I can't find it!!!" Of course, I laughed & went upstairs to help him find it. :)

While watching Monsters, Inc. this morning, the movie came to the part when the little girl goes to bed. Gavin looked at me & said, "Sweet Dreams little girl." So sweet!!!!

20 Weeks

I am now 20 weeks pregnant (as of Jan. 19th) & the baby is weighing 13 ounces. It is kicking like crazy, which we got to witness at our last sonogram. I am now starting to get nervous about getting the baby's room done before the baby gets here. We are selling our house soon & if we don't find a home to move into, we will be putting everything in storage & living in an apartment. Yuck! Pray that doesn't happen. I really hope to be in a home & able to start decorating the baby's nursery.

After many attempts, I finally got Gavin to pose with these posters we made together. I think I used candy! I sent text messages to our parents to let them know we were going to have another baby. Gavin doesn't look too happy in this last pic, but he really is excited. He kisses my belly and says hello to the baby often. It is so sweet.

17 Weeks

We are not finding out the sex of the baby this time, so decorating is a little more challenging. I have chosen French Antique. Here is my inspiration.

I am seventeen weeks in this photo. My due date is June 7th, but I will have a c-section on June 1st if all goes well.

Daddy helped Gavin learn how to peddle his bike that Santa Claus brought him. David tried to attach some wood blocks to the peddles to help Gavin reach with his feet. After several different attempts, we removed them & just put some big shoes on Gavin. He is just about there. Maybe in a few months, he will be a pro. David even got a turn on Gavin's bike, which Gavin thought was too funny!!

Christmas 2010

On Christmas Eve, we went to the Gaylord Texan to see Santa & possibly see the ICE show. Saw Santa, but ICE was way too crowded. We thought no one would be there on Christmas Eve. I guess everyone had the same idea.

Gavin loved the trains most of all. He was sitting on Santa's lap saying "See Choo Choo".

JuJu was able to visit us for Christmas & we loved having her be a part of our Christmas traditions.

Gavin was DJ Lance Rock for Halloween. He loves Yo Gabba Gabba, but didn't really understand who he was. We could actually get him to say "YO GABBA GABBA" & wave his arms really big like they do on the show. We went to a pumpkin party that our church put on & painted a great pumpkin for the front porch.
