It's Christmas, It's Christmas
Gavin & Mommy went to Texarkana for a few days to visit. Gavin enjoyed being over his Aunt Aunt & Uncle Joe's with his cousins. Everyone loved on him & he got lots of kisses from everyone. The cutest quote of the trip came from his cousin, Anna Beth. She said that JuJu (Gavin's grandmother) couldn't come over because she always steals Gavin from everyone. She is two years old!!!

Look at Me!!!
Gavin is growing so fast!! He is now sitting up in his Bumpo chair all by himself. When he gets tired he starts to learn forward, so we have to keep a close watch on him while he is in it. He loves his bath time and when we read stories in funny voices. He cracks up at Daddy when he makes all his wierd noises. He went to his first highschool football game that was being played at the Dallas Cowboy stadium. He slept most of the time on Mommy's chest. Gavin loves when Daddy plays guitar for him.

Santa! "I know him!"
Gavin had the pleasure of meeting Santa himself for the first time today. He took it very well. Didn't ask for much this year.
Mom has spent the last two weeks fighting with the Christmas tree lights, testing, wrapping, then lights going out...then repeating the process. Fuses seem to be the problem and hopefully they are solved or the tree will be half lit. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and has been blessed this year as much as us.
Merry CHRISTmas!

Baby's First Thanksgiving
We went to Aunt Chelle's for Thanksgiving. Even with all the drama (dog bite, turkey not getting done, a little too much wine), Gavin enjoyed seeing his family & getting to meet those that weren't able to make it to the hospital when he was born. Everyone loved seeing him in his cute "Gobble, Gobble" outfit & enjoyed his coos. Gavin especially liked his cousin, Alex. He talked to her a lot!!

Getting better
Gavin is finally sleeping a little better at night. As those that have kids know, now new challenges of separation anxiety or as Dad calls it...lots of crying for no apparent reason. Even with all the work and energy it takes, one toothless smile makes it worthwhile.

Gavin preparing for his first Packer Game
Clare and Jason Robinson were our guests for Gavin's first Packer game. It was a great win for the Pack. Jason left with his head hangin' low as the Chicago transplants were handed a loss. We still love them both.

Happy Halloween
Gavin's first Halloween!! He was a dalmation. We gave out candy to all the kiddos that come to our neighborhood. He lasted about 30 minutes, then went to sleep.

Weighing In at 11.5 lbs
Yesterday we went to the doctor and Gavin weighed 11 lbs 5 ounces. David & I guessed that he would be 10.2 or 10.6...boy were we off. He got his second Hep B shot and only cried for a second. It wasn't bad at all. We had a very good day running around as a family. Gavin looked so cute in his little hoodie, until he spit up all over it! Oh well!

Sic 'Em Bears
After much confusion at the hospital, Gavin finally realized he is a Baylor Bear so Daddy taught him how to show his best "Sic 'Em Bears"! Grandma Escajeda also visited last week. She was a huge help. Gavin had some excitement last week when he got a rash on his arms, legs, hands and feet. We took him to the pediatric dermatologist and were relieved to find out it was only a common viral rash. He also had to have blood drawn the same day because his second screening came back abnormal on his thyroid. Again, the Lord was watching over him and the blood test came back normal. The rash is all gone and Baby Gavin is looking as beautiful as ever this week. ">

JuJu Visits
My first week home, JuJu came and stayed with us. We had so much fun learning all of Baby Gavin's noises and funny faces. Life has most certainly changed for the better. I seriously don't know how we lived without this beautiful gift in our lives. This is amazing!! Words can't describe how we feel being parents & having this little person depend on us for survival. Scary, exhausting, & exhilarating all at once. Can't wait to see how he grows every day!

Getting Settled at Home
We are now home and trying to adjust to our wonderful new life. We are getting "some" sleep & making a schedule of sorts. We can't explain how beautiful the world becomes when something as precious as Gavin enters it. Mommy & Daddy have found a new love for each other and this amazing creature that has entered their lives. God has blessed us once again.

He's Here!!!!
Daddy just started this blog for Mommy keep everyone updated on our new journey.
David Gavin Escajeda was born September 17, 2008 at 8:06 am. Weighed 7lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long. Huge hands and feet! He's the most wonderful little gift anyone has ever given. We thank the Lord for Gavin and Amanda's health. We just ask for prayers for us to have strength, energy, patience, and guidance to raise him the best of our ability. Thanks to everyone that has helped us with gifts, visits, support, and thoughts.
To our families, thanks for being there for us and welcoming Baby Gavin. We love you (so does he I'm sure of it).
